U11 AA Parkland Transmission Braves win provincial title

Another Red Deer baseball team has been crowned provincial champions.

The U11 AA Parkland Transmission Braves won their provincial title in Red Deer on Aug. 26 – defeating the Olds Spitfires Orange 8-5.

According to team officials, the game was originally scheduled to take place in Grande Prairie last Sunday (Aug. 22), but was postponed due to rain. Baseball Alberta then rescheduled the game for Red Deer on Thursday.

Prior to that, however, the Braves went 3-0 in round-robin play to earn their place in the final.

The championship victory follows a gold medal win for the U15 AAA Ernco Braves who defeated Okotoks Dawgs Black 8-5 in Okotoks in their provincial title Aug. 22.
