Prairie Bus Lines faces OHS charges in 2025 incident that hospitalized five
A Red Deer-based charter bus service is facing 10 charges under the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act following a 2025 incident that sent five people to the hospital.
The charges were laid on Aug. 23 of this year, and are in relation to an incident on Jan. 9, 2025, where an explosion inside the Prairie Bus Lines garage in Red Deer injured five workers.
According to the OHS report, a mechanic was conducting bus service/repair duties when the explosion happened.
rdnewsNOW reported at the time that Red Deer Emergency Services responded to the incident at 3:22 p.m. that day for a report of a structure explosion.
