Town of Ponoka seeking citizen input on 2022 Budget

Aug 17, 2021 | 10:49 AM

The Town of Ponoka is inviting their residents to provide their thoughts and ideas regarding the 2022 Town budget.

The Town will be hosting two Coffee with Council events in the upcoming weeks, where Ponoka citizens have the chance to ask questions or share their ideas face-to-face with members of town council.

They will be held on:

· Wednesday, Aug. 25th, 2021 from 10 a.m. – 1p.m. at the Ponoka Farmers Market

· Thursday, Sept. 9 from 4-7 p.m. as part of the grand opening celebration of the Old Hospital Rotary Park. More details on this event will be announced at a later date, but it will include a free community barbecue.

Citizen survey and online budget open house

Ponoka citizens can also fill out an online survey about what they feel are the key factors which contribute to their quality of life in Ponoka, as well as the top factors they would like town council to consider in the upcoming budget.

The citizen input survey is available here: www.ponoka.ca

Paper copies will also be available at the Coffee with Council events on Aug. 25 and Sept. 9. They are also available for pick-up or drop-off at the Town Office, the Ponoka Jubilee Library, and the Ponoka Aquaplex.

Completed surveys can be mailed to the Town of Ponoka at #200, 5604-50 St, Ponoka, AB, T4J 1G5.

The citizen input survey will be open to the public and available at these locations and online until 9 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 10.

Input collected on the budget from these events and surveys will be summarized and presented to Town Council for careful review and consideration during the 2022 budget deliberation process.
