Man charged in O’Chiese shooting death to stand trial
A man charged in relation to a shooting death last summer at O’Chiese First Nation has been ordered to stand trial.
A preliminary hearing held last week in Rocky Mountain House provincial court for Lyle Bearspaw determined there was enough evidence for the 28-year-old’s case to go to trial.
Rocky Mountain House RCMP said it was just after 8 p.m. on Aug. 27, 2020 when they received a 911 call about a firearms incident that had injured a male.
The victim, 23-year-old Troy Beaverbones, from O’Chiese was airlifted by STARS, but later died in hospital.
