RCMP warn of laced drug supply after three deaths at Drumheller home

Feb 21, 2021 | 10:02 AM

Drumheller RCMP are investigating at a local residence where three people have been found deceased.

The detachment says members received a 911 call at about 7:40 on Feb. 20.

When they arrived, three individuals were found passed away as a result of what are believed to be drug overdoses.

“The Drumheller RCMP are issuing a warning to the public as it is suspected that these deaths may be associated to drugs that may be laced with lethal quantities of opioid-related substances such as fentanyl, carfentanil or methamphetamines,” a statement reads.

RCMP say the victims are a 21-year-old female and 27-year-old female from Drumheller, as well as a 31-year-old male from Rosedale, nine minutes southeast.

Autopsies are scheduled for later this week in Calgary.
