Maskwacis RCMP seek hit and run suspect

RCMP in Maskwacis are searching for a suspect after a woman was injured in a hit and run collision on Monday.

Police say it was at about 9 p.m. when they were called about a collision involving a pedestrian and a minivan on Four Mile Road on the Samson Cree Nation.

The 27-year-old victim was treated by Maskwacis EMS and transported to an area hospital via STARS Ambulance, RCMP said in a release.

The driver involved in the crash fled the scene immediately after striking the victim. Police say the suspect vehicle has been described as a dark-coloured minivan and believe there may be front-end damage to the vehicle.
