Le Chateau plans to close all stores

Shoppers are likely to lose another option for clothes in Red Deer.

Le Chateau announced Friday it is seeking to shut down all 123 locations across Canada and liquidate its assets.

Bower Place Shopping Centre has a Le Chateau store.

The application under the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act for protection from creditors will be heard today by a Quebec court.

In a statement, the clothing retailer says it can no longer continue its operations as a going concern.
