Charges have now been laid following an incident Tuesday north of Drayton Valley that saw a police pursuit, a vehicle fire, and the deployment of the RCMP Emergency Response Team.

Drayton Valley RCMP was dispatched at about 8:30 that morning to a home invasion that had just occurred.

The suspect vehicle was initially spotted on Highway 759 by an Alberta Sheriff and later by a nearby homeowner before it was located and contained by Mounties in a field near Moon Lake Community Hall.

The vehicle caught fire in the field.

Police say two men were located initially at a residence near Highway 22, while two other subjects were located thanks to a tip from a member of the public.

Three of the accused were treated and released at a local hospital as a result of injuries police believe were sustained by jumping from the moving vehicle. No one else was injured.

Shawn Fleming, 30, Stuart McMillan, 19, and Dylan Andres, 21, all of Edmonton are jointly facing numerous charges including break and enter to a residence, using a firearm while committing an indictable offence and possession of a prohibited weapon.

All three remain in custody to attend court on August 4 in Drayton Valley.

A 38-year-old female from Edmonton is also facing charges which have not been sworn in court yet.
