Rocky RCMP traffic stop finds man with loaded sawed-off shotgun
On Tuesday February 11, Rocky Mountain House RCMP Crime Reduction Team members were conducting an investigation when they located a male wanted in connection with a recent assault.
Rocky police conducted a traffic stop where they located the wanted suspect in a taxi.
Richard Chip Francoeur, 31, was found with a loaded sawed off shotgun and equipment used to forge credit cards and was arrested without incident.
Francoeur is now charged with 15 offences, including assault, mischief under $5000, possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm obtained by crime, unsafe storage of a firearm, possession of instruments intended to forge credit cards and four counts of possessing a firearm and ammunition contrary to prohibition order.
