RED DEER- The Public Library and Kimmotion Family Day Home are celebrating Family Literacy Day, January 27, in a big way with a Read for 15 Big Book Giveaway Party at the Dawe Branch.

Literacy lovers of all ages are invited for stories, games and crafts and will receive brand new picture books after the program courtesy of Kimmotion Family Dayhome.

“Family Literacy Day is the perfect day to encourage parents to read with their kids as much as possible,” says RDPL Youth Services Manager Candice Putnam. “Statistics show readers have greater success in life and reading together as a family strengthen bonds and creates lifelong readers. So come celebrate Family Literacy Day with us, have fun, get free books to take home and read, read, read.”

Attendees will be also included in the annual Read for 15 Family Literacy Day Challenge, where participating libraries tally reported readers to see which library has the most readers and which library will win Read for 15 2020.
