Local leaders meet to talk crime, housing and mental health
Several community leaders came together this week to discuss a wide variety of hot topics, from crime to housing, and homelessness to mental health and addictions.
Dubbed the Community Safety Summit, the meeting was led by the Systems Leadership Team, which includes representatives from Alberta Health Services, Children’s Services, The City of Red Deer, Red Deer Catholic Regional Schools, Red Deer Public Schools, Community Corrections, RCMP and the Urban Aboriginal Voices Society.
The SLT is focused on community safety and identifying gaps in the system, along with potential solutions.
Red Deer RCMP Superintedent Gerald Grobmeier says citizens and agencies, inlcluding his own, have shown great commitment to working together towards the betterment of all Red Deerians.
