Canadian Kingsbury takes silver medal in dual moguls at World Cup
TAZAWAKO, Japan — Olympic champion Mikael Kingsbury of Canada took silver in a dual moguls competition Sunday, maintaining his spot atop the FIS World Cup standings.
The medal, Kingsbury’s second of the weekend after also earning silver in moguls on Saturday, guarantees the Deux-Montagnes, Que., native a seventh consecutive Crystal Globe.
Ikuma Horishima of Japan won gold in both events.
“I have won here these past three years and I believed my odds were good, but the conditions were very difficult with a type of snow that fit Ikuma’s style perfectly,” Kingsbury said. “He was excellent today, as he was yesterday as a matter of fact.
