49 Ave repaving to start next week

Repaving of one of Red Deer’s s busiest stretches of road is set to get underway next week.

City officials say 49 Avenue will be repaved from 43 Street to 55 Street between August 28 and 31, so overnight road closures can be expected from 7:30 p.m. – 7:30 a.m. during that time.

This means motorists can also anticipate traffic delays throughout the downtown and traffic detoured onto 48 Avenue.

Drivers are reminded to slow down through construction zones and pedestrians to also obey all signs and directions from flag crews.
