Victims and Survivors of Crime Week: Financial benefits

In an effort to raise awareness of National Victims and Survivors of Crime Week, rdnewsNOW is taking a look at three different facets of what is available to someone when they become a victim.

According to the Central Alberta Sexual Assault Support Centre, most victims aren’t aware that financial assistance is even an option.

 

 

“They have a two-year window from the date the crime was committed (to apply),” says Outreach Worker Alma Garbe. “They can either get their applications through us at the Support Centre or through their local victim service programs.”
