Red Deer Special Olympians taking part in Joey Moss floor hockey tournament

Athletes from Red Deer will be among those taking part in the 8Th Annual Special Olympics Joey Moss Floor Hockey Invitational in Edmonton December 1.

On Saturday, 350 athletes and 24 teams from Airdrie, Calgary, Edmonton, Grande Prairie, High River, Okotoks, Rocky View, Spruce Grove, Stony Plain, St. Albert, Strathcona, Vegreville and Wetaskiwin will also be taking part, in addition to Edmonton Oilers all under one roof.

Officials say the tournament will also serve to division teams for the 2019 Special Olympics Alberta Winter Games in Calgary February 8 – 10.

The event’s highlight will be a game between the Edmonton Oilers Alumni team and Special Olympic athletes at 12:30 p.m.
