Red Deer house sales decrease in July

The total number of house sales in Red Deer decreased in July.

According to the latest market update by the Central Alberta Realtors Association, there were 179 houses sold in July, down from the 192 sold in June and down from the 213 sold in July 2025.

The year-to-date numbers show there have been 1,047 house sales in Red Deer through seven months in 2026, compared to 1,122 during the same period last year.

Meanwhile, the average sale price in Red Deer in July was $424,040, down from the $434,096 reported in June. In July 2025, the average sale price was $404,783.

The average number of days to sell in Red Deer in July was 42 days, which is up from the 34 days reported in June. In July 2025, the average days to sell were 28.

In central Alberta, there were 487 home sales in July, down from the 548 reported in June and down from the 597 sold in July 2025.

Year-to-date numbers in central Alberta show there have been 2,972 home sales in the region seven months into 2026. This is an overall decrease compared to the 3,328 reported in the same time frame last year.

The average sale price for a home in central Alberta was $433,080 in July, an increase compared to the $431,272 in July 2025 and a decrease from $444,659 in June this year.

And the average days to sell in central Alberta in July were 45, compared to the 47 days reported in June.
