Calgary man faces multiple fraud charges
CALGARY — A Calgary man is facing multiple identity theft and fraud charges following an investigation involving the Calgary Police Service and the Canada Border Services Agency.
Garrit Glen English-Schleiermacher, was arrested on December 29, 2018 and charged with multiple offences, including fraud over $5,000 and identity fraud.
The investigation began in September 2018 after CBSA intercepted a shipment from China, which contained 3,066 counterfeit holographic stickers.
The stickers, police allege, would be used on American and Canadian permanent resident cards. The file was passed to Calgary Police to investigate.
