Lacombe County approves hiring new RCMP officer

LACOMBE- Lacombe County Council has entered into an agreement with Alberta Justice and the Solicitor General for enhanced policing services.

The position will be included in the 2018 operating budget, at an estimated cost of $152,000 per year, and would be for a three-year commitment.

The terms of the deal will be subject to negotiating a Memorandum of Agreement with the RCMP.

At issue will be the availability of the officer to General Investigation Services and the provision of service to all detachments serving Lacombe County.
