Aug 13, 2026 | 2:09 PM
Lacombe is looking to residents to name its new ice resurfacer — what many may refer to as a Zamboni.
According to the city, residents of both Lacombe and Lacombe County are invited to submit name suggestions. Up to five finalists will be selected for public voting.
The winning name will be displayed on the ice resurfacer, and the entrant whose submission is selected as the final name may receive a prize package valued at approximately $1,000.
Name submissions are open until Aug. 27, and voting begins Sept. 7. For full contest details and to submit a name, visit: www.lacombe.ca/naming-contest.
