The Sport Summit is coming to Red Deer next month.

Presented by Central Sport, the Summit is a one-day event that will be held at the Margaret Parsons Theatre at Red Deer Polytechnic on Saturday, Sept. 19.

From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., those in attendance will hear from speakers and panels on mental health in sports, women in sports, volunteer management, culture in sport, coach-player connection, and leadership.

Tickets can be purchased for $50 per person and can be acquired online.

Some of the speakers include Coach Harp who will speak about diversity and inclusion; Bob Wilkie, who will speak about mental health; and Kristine Chalmers, who will speak about leadership, among other speakers.

According to the Sport Summit website, this event is where the real and raw business of sport comes to life.

“Built on the belief that collaboration over competition drives success, this one-day experience brings together leaders, innovators, and changemakers from across the Canadian sport landscape. Be inspired by dynamic keynote speakers who share practical insights, proven strategies, and authentic stories that will empower you to take immediate action in your organization and community,” they wrote on the website. “Whether you represent a grassroots club, provincial association, educational institution, or national sporting organization, the Sport Summit provides the tools, connections, and conversations needed to strengthen the future of sport in Canada.”
