UPDATED: RCMP, fire crews respond to structure fire on Highway 595

UPDATE: The City of Red Deer reported that due to the extent of the damage caused by exploding material, the building was demolished during extinguishing the fire. As a result, investigators were unable to conduct a full investigation and determine a cause.

The cause of a structure fire is under investigation after Red Deer RCMP and fire crews attended the scene this morning on Highway 595 between 30 Avenue and Range Road 270.

Police say they were rerouting traffic because the road was impassable due to safety precautions.
