Lacombe Police Service arrest individual who fled from traffic stop

The Lacombe Police Service have arrested an individual after they fled from a traffic stop on Friday.

Police say that on July 24 at 9:12 p.m., they conducted a traffic stop on a black Audi sedan, but as officers approached the vehicle, it fled westbound on 49 Avenue.

However, at 9:30 p.m., members of the Priority Crimes Unit (PCU) and patrol re-engaged with the vehicle, at which point there was no risk to the public near Township Road 400 and Range Road 261.

Lacombe Police Service then used a vehicle intervention technique to stop the vehicle, and the driver was taken into custody without further incident.
