Maskwacis man dies in vehicle-pedestrian collision in Wetaskiwin

A 51-year-old man from Maskwacis has died following a motor vehicle collision with a pedestrian in Wetaskiwin.

Police report that last Sunday, July 19, RCMP were in the middle of a traffic stop when they were flagged down for a nearby pedestrian motor vehicle collision on 56 Street near 50 Avenue.

On arrival, police found a pedestrian lying on the roadway after he was struck by a vehicle. The driver stopped immediately after the collision and waited for police.

However, the pedestrian was declared deceased at the scene, and police say no charges are pending following an investigation.
