Red Deer teen arrested for alleged mischief in Sherwood Park

A Red Deer youth has been charged after reports of alleged vandalism in Sherwood Park.

According to Strathcona County RCMP, a 15-year-old Red Deerian was among four other youths who were arrested on July 22.

On that day, police say they responded to a call at approximately 1:17 a.m. after five youths allegedly vandalized two vehicles on Brentwood Boulevard in Sherwood Park.

Officers immediately attended the area where all five youths were located and arrested. They all cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

The four other youths who were arrested were from Sherwood Park and were between the ages of 12 and 14.

As a result, they were all charged with mischief under $5,000, theft under $5,000, and obstructing a peace officer.

They were released from custody with conditions and are scheduled to appear in the Alberta Court of Justice in Sherwood Park on two dates of Aug. 25 and Sept. 8.
