Red Deer County among recipients of provincial rangelands project funding
Red Deer County is one of nine groups getting funding from the provincial government for projects that benefit the long-term health and sustainability of rangelands.
The total investment is worth $1.4 million, the province notes in a release.
It notes the Rangeland Sustainability Program supports academics, non-profits and agricultural partners in developing practical solutions that help maintain and improve the health, biodiversity and resilience of Alberta’s rangelands.
The program reinvests a portion of grazing disposition rental fees into projects that support responsible stewardship and sustainable management of these important landscapes, the government explains.
