Combined property assessments and tax notices mailed out in Lacombe County

May 8, 2026 | 10:04 AM

Lacombe County announced that the combined municipal assessment and tax notices have been mailed out to ratepayers.

They mailed them out on May 1, so residents can expect to receive them in the coming weeks.

However, if you don’t receive the notice by June 1, contact Lacombe County’s assessment department at 403-782-6601.

“We encourage ratepayers to be proactive and ensure they have received their assessment and tax notice from Lacombe County,” said Michael Minchin, Director of Corporate Services. “It is essential to review the notice promptly to confirm the information is correct and to address any concerns without delay.”

Property owners must pay their property taxes by August 31, 2026, and if not, a six per cent penalty will be applied on September 1. In addition, a 10 per cent penalty will be applied if the taxes aren’t paid by November 30.

In terms of assessment complaints, property owners will have 60 days from the Notice of Assessment date to file a complaint, which will be clearly identified on your notice.

Also, if you don’t receive your notice, the county says to contact them immediately.

“As with other online bill payments, processing delays may occur,” added Minchin. “Residents who plan to pay electronically should allow sufficient time to ensure payments are received by the County no later than the last business day in August to avoid penalties.”
