Chris Gardner, a long-time educator in Alberta, has been named principal at The Brick Learning Centre in Ponoka.

Gardner joins Wolf Creek Public Schools (WCPS) from Wetaskiwin Regional Public Schools, where he is principal at Buck Mountain Centre School.

He has previously held leadership roles with High Prairie School Division, including vice principal of Lakeside Outreach School and Roland Michener Secondary School.

“Chris brings a wealth of experience in alternative education and a clear commitment to supporting diverse learners,” said Sonja Dykslag, assistant superintendent of people services.

“His collaborative and solutions-focused leadership style aligns well with the values of Wolf Creek Public Schools, and we are confident he will make a positive impact at The BRICK Learning Centre.”

Gardner says he is looking forward to the transition.

“I believe in the power of our outreach schools to increase course options, build community partnerships and provide access to more flexible and personalized learning plans that can support all students in the division,” he says.

“It will be great working with and learning from staff, students, and families as we seek to continue building on The Brick’s strong foundation and reputation for supporting student success.”

He will begin at Brick in September.
