Friends of the Red Deer Public Library PSA — The Friends of the Red Deer Public Library are pleased to present Katherine Dowling, piano, in concert on Thursday, May 7, 2026 from 12:15-1PM in the Snell Auditorium of the Red Deer Public Library, Downtown Branch. The concert will include works by Alice Ping-Yee Ho, Johannes Brahms, and Henri Dutilleux.

Live streaming of First Thursday concerts 

If you are unable to attend the concert in person, the concert will be streamed live on our YouTube channel and at rdpl.org/first-thursday. Click on the YouTube channel in the previous sentence and you will be directed to the site.

Donations

Thanks to those who have made donations in support of the First Thursday concerts. These funds have been used to pay fees and expenses for the musicians presenting at the Library. If anyone wishes to support these concerts, cheques should be made out to the Red Deer Public Library, with a memo for CONCERTS.  A charitable receipt will be issued.

FUTURE EVENTS

Friday, May 22, 7:00 – The Red Deer Festival of the Performing Arts Showcase Concert will be held at Gaetz Memorial United Church.  Entry is by donation.  Come and hear the best of the best from this year’s Festival including vocal, vocal groups, piano, strings, musical theatre and more.

Sunday, May 24, 3:00PM – The Red Deer Chamber Singers Celebrate 50th Anniversary at Gaetz United Church, 4758 50 Street, Red Deer. Tickets at the door, $20 cash only, (children 12 and under free)
