24-year-old Rimbey resident charged in fatal collision from July 2025
Sylvan Lake RCMP have charged a resident of Rimbey following a fatal collision that claimed two lives last year.
Aaron Alvin Barr, 24, was arrested and charged on March 20 with two counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death.
This comes as a result of an incident on July 5, 2025, where two people died following a collision between two trucks north of Eckville on Highway 12 and Highway 766. The two men from Lacombe, a 75-year-old and a 72-year-old, were the lone occupants of a GMC Sierra.
That day, two occupants of a Dodge truck, a 19-year-old and a 23-year-old resident from Red Deer, were also taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
