After a scoreless first period, Calgary opened the scoring 7:22 into the second period when Coleman — while being knocked down from behind — was still able to get his stick on Mikael Backlund’s low shot, deflecting it straight up under the crossbar.

Four minutes later, Colorado drew even when Lehkonen broke in off the far boards and buried Cale Makar’s perfect cross-ice pass from the opposite corner.
