Snowfall Warning remains for Red Deer and area

A snowfall warning remains in place for Red Deer and other parts of central Alberta today.

According to Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), heavy snowfall with total amounts of 15 to 30 cm is expected today.

Meteorologists says snowfall will intensify through the day, with the heaviest snow anticipated in the foothills and in the vicinity of Cypress Hills.

Snowfall is expected to end late Friday night over western Alberta and early Saturday morning for southeast Alberta.

Officials say travel will likely be challenging and visibility likely reduced at times. Motorists are reminded to prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions and allow extra time for travel.
