Maskwacis RCMP issue shelter in place for Louis Bull First Nation

Maskwacis RCMP are expected to provide more details in the coming days regarding a shelter in place order issued during the early morning hours of Feb. 4, 2026.

Shortly before 1:00 a.m., Mounties issued a shelter in place for Louis Bull First Nation as officers were searching for armed suspects.  

Police advised residents to stay in their homes and not to open the door for anyone and refrain from posting photos of responding officers on social media.

In a release, Maskwacis RCMP acknowledged that situations such as this can make a community feel uneasy, but rest assured, they were and are, doing everything they can to ensure everyone is safe.

“We ask that the public remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity or tips to RCMP or Crime Stoppers,” said the release.
