Four people were recently arrested after a large amount of meth, cocaine and LSD were seized in multiple central Alberta search warrants.

Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams (ALERT), say they seized $180,000 worth of drugs on Sept. 19, plus $6,700 worth of precious metals believed to be the proceeds of crime.

That includes 1.5 kg of methamphetamine, 1.1 kg of cocaine, and 186 LSD tablets. There was also a small amount of other illicit prescription pills, and 119 cartons of contraband tobacco.

Two warrants were at homes in Red Deer, and one was at a trailer parked at a campground in Lacombe County.

However, ALERT says the four who were arrested were released for now without charges, as the investigation remains ongoing.

“Our priority was to disrupt the drug supply line and take these harmful substances off the street. Our investigation will continue and target the people responsible,” said Staff Sergeant Jason Gibson, ALERT.

Members of the public who suspect drug or gang activity in their community can call local police, or contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Crime Stoppers is always anonymous.
