‘Creature Comforts’ exhibit now showing in downtown Red Deer

Oct 8, 2025 | 10:35 AM

The Red Deer Arts Council and Red Deer Public Library present ‘Creature Comforts,’ Oct. 6 to Nov. 29, at the Kiwanis Gallery.

The public art gallery is downstairs at the downtown library branch.

‘Creature Comforts’ features artwork by the Sculptors’ Association of Alberta, whose work is described as three-dimensional and often tactile.

This particular exhibit challenged sculptors to investigate and illustrate the comforts which move us to feel safe and secure.

That includes exploring how creature comforts helped society through the COVID-19 pandemic.

Visitors will experience a dynamic and diverse representation of Alberta sculpture from a wide range of artist members of SAA, organizers say.

Open to the public during library hours:

Monday to Thursday: 9 a.m. – 8 p.m.

Friday: 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Saturdays & Sundays: 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
