Mistrial declared in case against Red Deer massage therapist

A mistrial has been declared in the case of a Red Deer massage therapist accused of sexual assault.

Brian Moore, now 52, had a scheduled jury trial last week, April 15-19, at Red Deer Court of King’s Bench.

The reasons for the mistrial are not fully clear at this time, though a new court date of May 6 has been set to determine new trial dates, rdnewsNOW has learned.

It was Feb. 23, 2022, when, according to police, they received a report of a sexual assault involving a Red Deer massage therapist.

Through investigation, Mounties say it was then determined and alleged that the man sexually assaulted a female youth during a massage at a downtown chiropractor business.

As a result, the man was arrested and charged on Dec. 15, 2022.
