FEDERATION OF CANADIAN MUNICIPALITIES

Town Mayor Mike Yargeau may soon get a seat on the national stage as he runs for Board of Directors – Third Vice President of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM).

The FCM is the national voice of over 2,100 municipal governments, with leaders meeting each year to discuss on key issues and ensure citizens’ needs are reflected in federal policies and programs.

The Town council voiced support for the Mayor’s focus to represent central Alberta/Penhold and the Province of Alberta.

Election for the position will occur June 9 in Calgary.
