Wandering With Wonder is nominated in the category for Best Musical, or Variety Program or Series.

Based on a story written by Samantha Whelan Kotkas, Wandering With Wonder was funded by and features the RDSO, alongside a spectacular roster of guest artists,” the RDSO says.

“With music by Chris Andrew arranged by RDSO Music Director Claude Lapalme and filmed by Roadwest Pictures, this nomination confirms Wandering With Wonder as a notable achievement among pandemic-era artistic productions.”

In Sept. 2022, RDSO told rdnewsNOW that Wandering With Wonder is largely about reconciliation. It includes Indigenous musicians Sherryl Sewepagaham and Walter MacDonald White Bear — who composed parts of the film’s soundtrack and acted in it.

The makers described it as a call to action through music about reinvigorating our values of community, creativity, love, compassion and living sustainably within our environments.

The Rosies nomination comes just a few months after the RDSO won a Juno Award.
