Five candidates running in Town of Penhold’s by-election for seat in council

The Town of Penhold has announced five candidates will be running in a by-election for one vacant seat on council.

The seat is from former Councillor Mike Walsh’s resignation.

Nomination Day was August 9 and five Penhold residents have put their names forward as candidates:

  • Rob Burton
  • Mike Dodman
  • Cameron Galisky
  • Samantha Miller
  • Brandon Pringle

Important Dates include:

  • Wednesday, August 23: Candidate Forum 6:30 – 8 p.m. at the Penhold & District Library (#1 Waskasoo Ave.)
  • Wednesday, September 6: By-Election Day. Polls open 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. at the Penhold Regional Multiplex (Waskasoo Ave.). For voter eligibility and ID requirements, visit the town’s website.

“I, along with council, encourage all eligible residents to participate in the democratic process by researching and speaking with candidates, and casting their ballots,” said Mayor Mike Yargeau. “By taking part in the by-election, residents can continue to contribute to making our community a great place to grow, by electing representatives they want to see serve on council.”
