Those who purchase tickets can also choose to support the Rotary Club itself.

“Our Rotary Club of Red Deer Sunrise will continue to support the Red Deer Food Bank, The Mustard Seed, Oriole Park School Indigenous Garden Project and many more projects in Red Deer and central Alberta,” he said.

One example where the Club has made a difference in the region, Joseph says, is the Club’s fundraising efforts of $500,000 towards the city’s first barrier-free playground at Mattie McCullough Elementary School.

Other recent projects include:

$15,000 for Camp Waskaway: a collaboration with Youth HQ and Boys & Girls Club, to develop a new leadership camp for youth ages 13 – 17 in central Alberta
$1,400 for Mel Stevenson Art Student Scholarships: awarded each year in Red Deer High Schools
$1,200 for Team Alex: suicide prevention coaching program, Christmas Wreath Fundraiser with Stems Flowers and Café

Tickets are on sale from July 16 online at $10 each with various bundle options.

The winner gets to walk home with 50 per cent of the total funds raised. The draw date will be Sunday, July 23.
