Special Air Quality Statement in place for most of Alberta
A Special Air Quality Statement has been issued for most of Alberta on July 13, 2023.
This includes the Red Deer-Ponoka-Innisfail-Stettler region.
According to Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), smoke is causing poor air quality and reduced visibility.
Officials say air quality and reduced visibility due to wildfire smoke can fluctuate over short distances and can vary considerably from hour to hour. ECCC says wildfire smoke can be harmful to everyone’s health even at low concentrations.
