Red Deer’s seniors celebrate their contributions to the city at this year’s Mayor’s Garden Party
They danced and played games. They laughed together and ate together. These are just some of the fun things Red Deer seniors did at this year’s Mayor’s Garden Party.
Held during Seniors’ Week, over 270 seniors attended the indoor event on Tuesday at Westerner Park’s Harvest Centre (4847A 19 St.).
Red Deer City Mayor Ken Johnston served guests refreshments, alongside city councillors and staff, to live music played by country artist Cole Martin.
“It’s a celebration of the people that have really contributed in an immense way to building the city,” he said. “This is a time to wear our, because I’m a senior too, our senior title as a badge of honour for what we’ve contributed to the city, to the province, to the country.”
