Uchacz is a finalist alongside Kamloops’ Logan Stankoven, Everett’s Jackson Berezowski, and of course, Regina’s Connor Bedard.

From De Winton, Alberta, Uchacz had a career high 50 goals this regular season, recording 60 per cent of his goals at even strength.

The 19-year-old now has 128 points (67G, 61A) in 177 career regular season games.

Points aren’t all that matters when it comes to player of the year, so here’s how Uchacz’s fellow finalists stack up a little deeper stats-wise:

Connor Bedard – 71 goals, 72 assists, 143 points (1st), +39, 16 PPG, 62 PIMS in 57 games

Logan Stankoven – 34 goals, 63 assists, 97 points (4th), +36, 29 PPA, 17 PIMS in 48 games

Jackson Berezowski – 48 goals, 33 assists, 81 points (18th), +15, 22 PPG, 41 PIMS in 62 games

Kai Uchacz – 50 goals, 35 assists, 85 points (13th), +21, 16 PPG & 16 PPA, 75 PIMS in 68 games

Logan Stankoven was last season’s winner, also taking home CHL Player of the Year honours.
