Alberta and Prairie provinces say proposed expanded firearms ban targets hunters and farmers
The provinces of Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba say they are united in opposing a federally proposed firearms ban.
On November 22, the federal government moved to ban hundreds of new models of current-legally owned firearms and shotguns. Alberta claims this decision was made through last-minute amendments to Bill C-21 and will affect hundreds of thousands of firearms owners in Western Canada.

They say the amendments will criminalize hunters, farmers and target shooters who collectively own hundreds of thousands of firearms that could soon be prohibited.
