Video game kit easing pain and anxiety for young hospital patients in Red Deer
A little bit of virtual reality is brightening the days of young patients at Red Deer Regional Hospital.
Recently delivered was a Starlight Nintendo Switch Handheld kit, provided by Starlight Children’s Foundation Canada. The program is supported by the Ardene Foundation.
Accessible in all areas of the hospital, the kit offers a bit of normalcy and distraction for pediatric patients undergoing a wide array of medical procedures.
The kits are also infection control-friendly, and come with a foam-padded case that is easily wipeable.
