Lacombe golfer still in the hunt at Alberta Open

Brady Mckinlay of Lacombe shot a 2-under 70 on Wednesday to stay in contention going into the final round of the Alberta Open at the Sundre Golf Club.

Mckinlay is 5th overall, 4 back of Ethan Choi of Lethbridge who remains atop the leaderboard for the second straight day.

The top Central Alberta Pro’s were Grant Numrich of the Red Deer Golf & Country Club after a 73 and Scott Shouldice of the host club after shooting a 74. They are both tied for 20th, 9 off the pace. Jared Nicolls of the Wolf Creek Golf Resort fired a 73 to move into a tie for 24th.

Sundre Golf Club’s Dane Thorogood, who is an amateur, also shot a 1-over 73 to move into a 24th place tie. Wolf Creek’s Chase Broderson was 1-under 71 to move up 25 spots into a tie for 29th. Logan Graf of the Red Deer Golf & Country Club shot 78 and is tied in 52nd with Sundre Pro Matt Bean, who carded a 74.
