A preliminary hearing is scheduled to take place next summer for a man charged in a Red Deer homicide last year.
Dustin Mitchell, 26, of Red Deer, will have a three-day preliminary hearing starting Aug. 8, 2022 to find out if his case has enough evidence to go to trial.
Mitchell is facing one count of second-degree murder in the death of 34-year-old James Rufiange.
It was on Nov. 25, 2020 when Red Deer RCMP and the RCMP Major Crimes Unit were called to a residence on Stewart Street in the city’s Sunnybrook neighbourhood and arrived to find a deceased male inside.
