Drayton Valley RCMP Weekly Report: May 20-27

May 20

4:13 a.m. – Brazeau County – RgRd 73 – Report of a theft of copper wire Telus reports that approximately 200 meters of wire were stolen. Matter is still under investigation.

5:00 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 49 Avenue – Request from EMS for RCMP to assist with a male drug over dose. Male was transported to the hospital.

7:48 a.m. – Tomahawk – Request for RCMP to make patrols in Tomahawk as there are vehicles speeding through town. Members attended the village of Tomahawk and issued multiple speeding tickets.

7:49 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Hwy 22 and 50 Avenue – Report that a vehicle cut the complainant off. Licence plate provided, member spoke to the driver of the other vehicle and warned him about aggressive driving.

8:58 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Report of a child custody dispute. Complainant advising that his ex-wife has not been cooperative with exchanging their child. Member spoke to both parties and contacted Child Services.

11:45 a.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Report of an erratic driver, vehicle is swerving and only travelling at 75 km/h. Member made patrols but was not able to locate the vehicle. Licence plate provided. Member spoke to the owner of the vehicle who advised that she was trying to teach her son how to drive.

2:29 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 48 Street – Report of a theft from a vehicle. Surveillance video provided. SUI

6:26 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Coach Motel – Report of a possible assault. Members attend location. Consensual fight, no charges laid. Complainant had outstanding warrants and was arrest and lodge in cells.

9:22 p.m. Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Report of a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot. Member attended the location and located the vehicle. Traffic stop, nothing suspicious.

9:23 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 47 Avenue – Report of a break in to a residence. Residence was rummaged through, complainant identified a few missing items. Evidence left behind by suspect. RCMP ident attended location for finger printing. Matter still under investigation

9:50 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 47 Street – Report of an erratic driver that hit the complainant’s vehicle. SOC then drove by the complainant and yelled profanities. SOC vehicle then sped away before turning around and again drove into the complainant’s vehicle. Matter is still under investigation.

May 21

12:30 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Holiday Inn – Report of a unwanted male at the front desk. Male is intoxicated and laying on the floor. Members attended the location and located the male passed out in the hallway. Male was unresponsive, EMS called and the male was transported to the hospital.

2:51 a.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 624 – Report of thick smoke in the area. Complainant advised that the smoke was so thick he drove off the road. Smoke is from the recent wildfire in the area. Fire department is still monitoring the fire.

8:48 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Beckett Road – Complainant reporting that he thinks he seen the truck that matches the description of a suspect vehicle from a lease site theft. No licence plate provided. Complainant does not want police to attend location.

9:17 a.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Report from complainant that ice flew off a passing truck and smashed his window. Member advised complainant to attend the RCMP detachment to fill out a collision form.

10:30 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 53 Avenue – Report of a landlord tenant dispute. Landlord is reporting that the tenant is a hoarder and has cockroaches in the apartment. Tenant has mental health issues and drug addiction. Members attended location. Dispute resolved.

11:28 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Econo Rest hotel – Report of a female sleeping in the furnace room. Members attended location and removed female. Significant drugs and stolen property located on the female. Multiple charges laid.

2:37 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Greenwood Trailer Court – Report from complainant that his ex-wife is slandering his name around town. Member spoke with complainant about getting some counseling.

2:47 p.m. – Drayton Valley 53 Avenue – Report of loud noise coming from apartment, complainant says it sounds like they are destroying the apartment. Members attended location. SOC has been evicted from the apartment and is upset moving his belongings.

3:21 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 53 Avenue – Report of a possible suicidal male. Members attended location and spoke to the male who has just been evicted from the apartment. He was upset about being evicted but had no plans of suicide.

4:02 – Drayton Valley – Report of a possible intoxicated female in town to pick up children. Members attended the location and spoke to both parties. Female was not intoxicated. Complainant was trying to get ex-wife in trouble with the police during child custody exchange.

4:35 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Report of an intoxicated female dancing in the street. Multiple complaints about the female. Members attended location and arrested the female form public intoxication. Female suffers from major mental health issues as well as drug addiction.

7:24 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Report of a suspicious vehicle parked for a long time. Member located vehicle and spoke to the driver. The driver was just eating his take out food and enjoying the nice evening.

8:05 p.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 620 – Report of a motorcycle MVC. EMS and members attended location. Motorcycle lost control, driver transported to the hospital.

10:17 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 47 Street – Report of an assault at the residence. Members attended the residence and arrested SOC. SOC had shotgun, drugs and documents from a stolen vehicle. SOC held for JIR hearing.

May 22

2:54 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 46 Street – Report of a possible theft of vehicle in progress. Member attended location and spoke to SOC. Vehicle was broke down and SOC was trying to load it on a trailer. SOC and owner of the vehicle were both there, nothing criminal.

3:03 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Pleasant View Trailer Court – Report of a domestic dispute, complainant was slapped by female. Members attended location. Female has stopped taking her medication and was having a break down. Both parties uncooperative with police, members separated them for the night. No charges.

9:21 a.m. – Brazeau County Shop – Commercial Alarm, multiple hits to shop door. Key holder cancelled alarm.

11:05 a.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 620 – Complainant called to report that the previous night a vehicle cut her off and then brake checked her a couple times. Complainant advised that it was her current husband’s ex- girlfriend from 10 years ago. Complainant advised that she did not want the police to contact the other person, leading to the question of why she called the RCMP in the first place.

1:33 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 46 Street – Report of an on going traffic hazard. Complainant advised that there is a truck blocking the back ally. Member attended the location and spoke to the vehicle owner who was unloading his belongings from the truck.

4:18 p.m. – Brazeau County – RgRd 71 – Report of a suspicious vehicle parked on a lease road. Members attended the location but the vehicle was no longer there.

5:40 p.m. – Brazeau County – RgRd 73 – 911 open line, voices could be heard possibly a male yelling. Cell phone pinged and location acquired. Member attended location, male advised that it was a pocket dial. Male was playing an outdoor game.

7:14 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Greenwood Trailer Court – Report of a suspicious female walking around talking to herself. When the complainant confronted her, she yelled at him and kicked a garbage can. Members made patrols of the area but were unable to locate the female.

May 23

1:35 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Poplar Ridge Trailer Court – Report of a suspicious person. Complainant is reporting that he heard two people whistling beside his trailer. Complainant looked outside but could not see anyone. Member attended the location but did not find anyone in the area.

9:28 a.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 759 – Complainant reporting suspicious activity at the Berrymoor Bridge. Red minivan with a male and female were parked by the bridge. Member attended, no vehicles located

11:46 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting loud music and singing going on in the life church parking lot. Approximately 50 vehicles. Members attended, vehicles had left prior to arrival. Church doing a drive in service.

11:47 a.m. – Brazeau county – Complainant reporting theft of approximately 200 feet of power cable stolen from lease site.

12:45 p.m. – Brazeau County – Members on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Driver issued a violation ticket for speeding.

3:24 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 54 Street – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Driver issued a violation ticket for failing to obey traffic control device.

7:30 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 48A Avenue – Complainant reporting their service dog was attacked by another dog. No injuries. Other dog owner spoken to

May 24

7:32 a.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 39 – Members were called to the scene of a single vehicle rollover. 5 occupants in the vehicle. Minor injuries. EMS and fire department attended. All occupants were taken to the hospital as a precaution.

9:39 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 58 Avenue – Complainant reporting theft of fuel tank trailer. Lock to the gate had been cut.

3:45 p.m. – Brazeau County – complainant reporting illegal dumping with damage. Furniture, broken appliances, garbage. Member advised patrols would be made in the area.

9:00 p.m. – Drayton Valley – WalMart – complainant reporting they collided with a parked vehicle. Member contacted one of the drivers who advised there is no damage to the vehicles

9:34 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 53 Avenue – Complainant reporting a disturbance. 8 year old is angry and acting up, throwing things around. Member attended, child calmed down.

11:56 p.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant requesting members attend and euthanize a deer. Members attended, deer had passed away

May 25

11:00 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 44 Street – Complainant reporting vandalism to the skate park over the past weekend. Spray paint cans located in the garbage can and seized. Matter is still under investigation

11:22 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 43 Street – Complainant calling to report individuals failing to abide by COVID restrictions/rules.

12:41 P.M. – Drayton Valley – 47 Avenue – Residential alarm received. Member attended, no sign of suspicious activity.

1:33 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Animal Control Officer advised members that they had received a complaint over the weekend regarding dogs defecating on a lawn. Complainant had advised that they wanted this to stop and made some threatening remarks against the dogs.

3:04 p.m. – Brazeau Dam – Complainant reporting an abandoned vehicle North of the Dam.

5:30 p.m. – Tomahawk – Complainant reporting their 2009 Polaris RMK Black skidoo was stolen sometime over the past few days.

7:28 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Meier Avenue – Complainant requesting a wellbeing check on son. Member attended, son was fine.

May 26

5:09 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 47 Street – 911 call reporting a vehicle fire. Member attended, vehicle had been stolen out of Rimby.

7:23 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 48 Avenue – complainant reporting a Black Chevrolet Silverado is sitting on their driveway. Member attended. Damage to passenger door handle..

7:44 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 44 Avenue – Complainant reporting theft of their 2004 Silver GMC Sierra over night.

8:03 a.m. – Cynthia – Complainant reporting a light tower trailer had been stolen from yard.

9:48 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting a male is sitting in a Red Ford Ranger. Female passenger has been going in and out of stores. Member attended, vehicle had left prior to arrival.

9:50 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 53 Avenue – Member on patrol located a 2006 White Chevrolet Silverado which had been stolen out of Thorsby area. Vehicle towed.

10:45 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting chain link fence had been cut. Nothing appears to have been taken.

10:54 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting licence plate stolen off Jeep while parked.

11:03 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Madsen Avenue – 911 call received from hospital. Ongoing issue. Member attended, no emergency.

12:33 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 55 Street – Complainant reporting a door has been broken. Member attended location. Several other reports received regarding broken windows etc. Members located known female who was arrested.

5:02 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 44 Avenue – Complainant reporting they located a knife and pry bar in their back yard. May be related to truck stolen the previous night. Members attended, items seized.

7:49 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 44 Avenue – Complainant reporting a male yelling. Members attended and requested male keep it down. Members had to return. Male arrested.

11:32 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 44 Street – Complainant reporting custody issue involving children and a stroller. Member attended.

11:48 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 47 Avenue – Complainant reporting two children running around on Main Street. Member attended and located children. Members located residence where children had come from.
