Mounties release photos of Walmart stabbing suspect

Red Deer Mounties released photos of a man they believe is responsible for a stabbing at the south end Walmart last weekend.

RCMP was called at 4 p.m. Saturday, May 22, about a physical altercation at the Walmart located at 2010 50 Ave.

Police say that when an on-duty loss prevention officer approached a male suspect believed to be shoplifting, the suspect stabbed the officer and fled the store.

The victim sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.

The suspect is described as an Indigenous male wearing a grey hoody and grey sweat pants at the time of the incident. He was last seen on foot near the CIBC located at 5111 22 Street.
