Man and woman from Drayton Valley facing charges in theft incidents
Two people from Drayton Valley have been arrested and charged after a number of rural theft incidents in southern and central Alberta.
On April 25, Bassano RCMP responded to a call of a suspicious vehicle in relation to a theft of fuel incident in the area of Highway 550 and Range Road 164 outside of Bassano.
A fuel spill trail from the site of the fuel theft led RCMP to locate the suspects in a field, where police then pursued them on foot for approximately one kilometre before arresting a male and female for theft.
Further investigation revealed the vehicle in their possession had previously been reported stolen from Brooks two days earlier and the licence plate displayed on the stolen truck was also stolen from Brooks in November 2020.
