Apr 17, 2020 | 3:00 PM

Mounties in central Alberta say a Red Deer man wanted for the shooting of another man southeast of Olds last month is now in custody.

It was at about 2 p.m. on March 20 when Olds RCMP received a complaint of a shooting near Township Road 320 and Range Road 290 in Mountain View County. Police determined that three subjects, one female and two males, attended a rural property in a gold-coloured SUV to settle a dispute over money and belongings. A 47-year-old man suffered firearms-related injuries and was flown to hospital in stable condition. Another man at the property was shot at but was not injured.

Olds RCMP report that Lyle Robert Walter Vance, 27, has been arrested by the Calgary Police Service on charges that include one count of unlawfully wounding, maiming, disfiguring or endangering a life, two counts of pointing a firearm, two counts of discharging a firearm with intent, one count of prohibited possession of a firearm, one count of unlawful possession of a handgun, one count of possession of a restricted and loaded firearm, and two counts of breach of probation.

Vance was remanded in custody to speak to bail on April 20 at Didsbury provincial court.
